CHANTILLY, VA- December 2, 2018. As a child, who can forget the sheer joy on Christmas Day upon finding the family tree surrounded by gifts. Unfortunately, not all children get to experience this magical morning.
Toys for Tots began in 1947 as the brain child of Marine Corps Reserve Major Bill Hendricks, when his wife, Diane, crafted a few dolls and asked Bill to deliver them to an agency that supports children in need. When he replied that he could not find one, she insisted that he start one. The rest, as we say, is history!
This year, the PGPC elves participated in collecting toys and delivering them to the local Toys for Tots drop off location at the Fire Department of Centreville. There was much excitement during the drop off as PGPC’s “haul” filled the building’s lobby.
